Bosco is a one year old Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. We do have any information about Bosco’s background before he was brought to the shelter. It can only be assumed that Bosco was rescued from an unfit home because of his severe separation anxiety. When the WBF trainer went to evaluate him, Bosco latched onto her leg and would not let go. If someone came into the evaluation room and left; he would intently watch the door waiting for them to come back. Because of the severity of his separation anxiety Bosco had to be put on a medication to help calm his nerves. From what the trainer saw, she was skeptical at first as to whether he would make a good fit for WBF’s program. As she spent more time with him she started to realize many of his amazing qualities. He was very attentive and treat motivated, always wanted to be by someone’s side, and was one big teddy bear! Seeing the potential in Bosco, the trainer decided to adopt him into Warriors’ Best Friend’s bootcamp training program. Since then Bosco has been completely weaned off of his medication for separation anxiety and is one of our most promising service dogs in training! Bosco has been a blessing to our program. No matter how rough of a day you have, he will always get you to smile! We look forward to continuing to watch him grow in his training and are even more excited for the day we find him his forever home!
