Canine Rescue and Training Academy was established in 2013 by Bella Jeffers. Located in Kansas City, Missouri, CRTA is a “Boot Camp” training center where service dogs begin their journey to be paired with a veteran. At Canine Rescue and Training Academy all of the trainees live and work under the philosophy “work hard, play hard.” The canines are adopted from local shelters and undergo a rigorous training curriculum over a course of 12-16 weeks. During this time they learn over twenty-five commands and conquer public socialization through the teaching style of positive reinforcement. Our training academy addresses unique pre-existing issues such as separation anxiety during their time.
True to the “work hard, play hard,” spirit, in their short time with CRTA, trainees accomplish the truly amazing, and in turn, create their own incredible experiences.
